We successfully worked with Cammell Laird Ship Builders and Rolls Royce to design, manufacture and install the masts and supporting structures for the satellite and radio equipment. Due to the ship being an Antarctic Research we had to design the masts to cope with the harshest environment on the planet.
We manufactured all three main masts along with the sat Tel, sat dome supports and ship crests fully out of GRP. It was important that minimal metal was used in the structure around the radio equipment to give the RSS Sir David Attenborough the best possible range and quality for the radar and communications.
Hampshire county council wanted to offer camping in pods, but traditional timber pods didn’t meet their requirements regarding longevity or maintenance.
We designed a full GRP camping pod included the Floor, walls, and gable end. It was very important that during this design process create a robust pod that would serve the public for 20+ years.
The project was delivered in less than six months from the design of the pods to the final installation. We installed all 10 pods to the site and ensured this was always carried out safely and professionally.
We surveyed, designed, and installed GRP grating walkways and steps on the MV Clansman. Our team worked closely with the ship repair teams to ensure the correct steel supports were in place before the installation. All the GRP cladding was cut to size prior to the installation at our composite facility. Our team installed the GRP products efficiently ensuring minimal down time for the ship and its crew.
We worked with the Bentley Factory racing team to replace standard metal parts to make the race car lighter and safer for the driver. The manufacturing process involved taking standard Bentley parts and re designing the structure and mounting points so they could be made from GRP.
We worked closely with the race team to ensure the parts fitted perfectly were of the highest quality and were delivered at the best possible moment to suit the project schedule.
