Chester Composites are the industry leader in utilising GRP and other composite materials in the construction of modular buildings. We have capitalised our ability to manufacture structural composites and GRP wall panels that resemble a variety of external finishes and incorporate this into the manufacturing of modular buildings. This gives our modular buildings a significant advantage over traditional building material and methods.
We have designed, built, and delivered multiple GRP modular buildings for a range of uses including accommodation, toilet facility’s, office space and changing facilities. We have our own custom built assembly facility where we utilise our own composite and steel products to create our modular building range.
The accessible toilet pod was designed by our team who worked alongside numerous industry experts to ensure the pod meets all the accessibility requirements. The steel frame structure ensures stability and superior strength in adverse conditions. The GRP panels are easily removable if any damage occurs, the panels come in a range of finishes allowing us to design the pods exterior to fit into any environment.
The interior of the pod is fitted with high quality equipment that meets BS 8300-2:2018.
We developed our Changing Places pod working in collaboration with MDUK. It supports the needs of every user and meets the requirements of BS 8300-2:2018.
The focus of the pod is to provide a sanitary accommodation which meets the needs of people with complex and multiple disabilities who require an assistant. The facility is larger than a standard accessible toilet which allows enough space for both the user and the assistants.
The Changing Places pod ensures the health and dignity of the users to be kept intact and offers more opportunities in terms of activities for the disabled users and help tackle social isolation.
Comprised of a steel structure and GRP wall panels, the exterior can be changed to suit the surroundings.
The latest in our modular buildings are our Emergency Accommodation Pods. Working alongside Herefordshire Council we ensured all the requirements were met and have been able to design and produce a safe warm place with access to electricity, a toilet and a bed. The pods are made from GRP, they are designed to be budget-friendly, low maintenance and long lasting.
The pods are equipped to go off-grid with a toilet that does not require a water supply and solar panels that supply electricity to the pod, allowing them to be situated anywhere.
The pods were first conceived in 2017 incorporating a whole host of benefits utilising composite materials.
